Hard reset a Pocket LOOX n520 and set up its GPS for Windows Mobile 5 and Navigon 7

Preamble

Just some random things i needed to do over the weekend to get my dads horribly messed up Pocket LOOX n520 back to work and reinstall Navigon 7 on it.

Since i searched nearly 4 hours for these two pieces of information i’d actually write a tutorial about them.

Hardreset on a Pocket LOOX n520

WARNING : This will delete every single customization you did and remove all installed applications. It will reset the Pocket LOOX n520 to a clean delivered state!

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the Suspend/Resume button (1) and the Calendar application button (2).
  2. Briefly press the stylus tip into the soft reset opening (3).
  3. Continue to hold down the Suspend/Resume button and the Calendar application button for a few seconds.

The reset can take a few minutes. At the end an acoustic signal sounds. Please follow the further instructions on the display. When you reset your Pocket PC to the delivered state, the battery switches off so that the RAM content is lost. This means: You loose all data (documents, additionally installed programs, personal settings) that you haven’t saved elsewhere.
