SC2.FM is the worlds largest StarCraft related video, stream and podcast database. The database currently includes over 38000 videos and 260 livestreams with an overall count of 340 StarCraft content sources.

The main features of SC2.FM include

  • Fully automated video and livestream aggregation from YouTube, LiveStream.com, UStream.com, Own3d.tv, Justin.tv and FeedBurner.com
  • Video views and descriptions are synchronized with the corresponding video hosting platform
  • Livestreams online status is synchronized with their corresponding plattforms without the streamers intervention
  • Twitter notification when a channel starts streaming or a new video was added to the database
  • Integration with SC2Ranks.com to show the casters ladder ranking, points and world rank
  • Full spectrum of user interaction expected from a video/stream community, such as bookmarking channels/videos, voting and commenting

SC2.FM is as of today the biggest Drupal project the RuneForge ever implemented. During the development

  • 3 custom modules got created
  • 2 commits to Drupal 6 Core where initiated
  • Over 10 bugfix or features requests got committed to utilized modules
  • Numerous custom code was written to extend the natural API of the content sources to provide the wished functionality

And there are still numerous bug reports and feature requests pending in the Drupal queue.

About Mario Albrecht

Mario's first programming experience was a small calculation program written in BASIC on a Commodore Amiga in the early 90s. Since then, he as written code for dozens of companies and nonprofits such as Mednovo Medical Software Solutions, Telesense and ROOT Gaming. He creates modifications and tool for video games, like Diablo 2 and StarCraft 2, and helps out as technical administrator on various big internet communities and clans.

Mario uses Delphi as his language of choice for desktop development and PHP / Drupal for web applications. Mario loves challenging problems of any nature. If there is somebody saying "Thats technically not possible!" you'll most likely find Mario with his headphones on, working on a solution.

On weekend adventures, you'll find Mario playing a nice game of Magic: The Gathering or in a pub drinking beer.
